SESSION
DESCRIPTION
This half day program is designed to acquaint participants with
the laws governing fair employment practices. Special attention
is given to the EEO laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights
Act (and its amendments regarding sexual harassment), the Age
Discrimination Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, The Rehabilitation
Act, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical
Leave Act (FMLA) and other laws governing the employee/employer
relationship. Since the greatest potential for litigation exists
with uninformed managers, this program works well with new and
first-line supervisors/managers. Extensive use of case studies
makes this a powerful and extremely interesting training program.
SESSION
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:
List
& explain the impact of the major laws governing organizations.
Identify
& explain how federal and state laws govern recruitment &
selection.
Identify
legal and illegal interview questions & practices.
Use
legal "behavioral" questions during the interview process.
Identify
what constitutes sexual, racial and religious harassment.
Describe
other employment practices that are violations of current laws.
