SESSION
DESCRIPTION
Using a three phase model, this program teaches participants
how to be more effective performance appraisers. The program
teaches specific skills in the areas of performance goals, providing
feedback, conducting the reviews, rating errors, analyzing performance
problems, etc. Also provided is our Analyzing Performance Problems
job aid that will help managers more effectively identify the
reasons for performance problems among employees.
SESSION
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:
Define
and explain the three phase performance management cycle.
Write
performance objectives that meet the criteria of good objectives.
Explain
how to develop and communicate performance objectives.
Provide
periodic, ongoing performance feedback (both negative and positive).
Effectively
document performance via the "significant event log"
Define,
explain and avoid the 6 most common performance rating errors.
Conduct
an effective job performance review.
Analyze
and systematically solve employee performance problems.

and for employees. We can also provide detailed instruction to
managers and employees about how to write performance objectives.
