DESCRIPTION
Problem solving and decision making, while not the only necessary
management skills, are perhaps the most crucial. Certainly the
success and failure of an individual manager and of a company
itself lies with ability to make the "right" decision.
This program will help participants (managers and non-managers
alike) learn to differentiate between people problems and systems/process
problems and then provide a proven step-by-step process for isolating
the cause of the problem and deciding on possible solutions.
Not only will participants learn how to identify the causes of
problems, but they will be introduced to the seven evaluation
factors to consider when choosing a possible solution: effectiveness,
cost, simplicity, risk, flexibility, timing, and impact. This
program uses real-life case studies in a final simulation exercise
to teach decision skills. The program also introduces creative
decision making.
